Become a Prestige Certified Wine Cellar Installer
The Prestige Certified Installer path is for builders and tradespeople who want to add wine cellars to their work. Pass the course and a review of a real build to earn certification. Certified installers run their own business under their own name, and are eligible to be considered for Prestige projects and to buy Prestige design and materials in their area.
The program is being developed now. Joining the waitlist is free and doesn’t enroll or certify you.
How Certification Works
Certification protects the work, the client and every other installer who holds it. These are the planned steps, and final requirements will go to the waitlist before enrollment opens.
Complete the course
Every layer of the build, in the order you’ll build it
Build to the standard
Complete a real wine cellar project
Pass the review
Prestige reviews your documentation of the build
Keep your own credentials
Hold the licenses and insurance your state and city require
What Certification Means, and What It Doesn’t
We’d rather be clear about this now than disappoint you later.
You can say you’re Prestige Certified
Once certified, you can present yourself as a Prestige Certified Installer, under rules we’ll share with the waitlist.
You’re eligible to be considered
When we have a project in your area that fits your experience, certified installers are eligible to be considered for it.
You run your own business
You work under your own name, with your own license, insurance, pricing and customers. You don’t operate as Prestige Wine Cellars.
No jobs or income are promised
We don’t guarantee any number of projects, any income or an exclusive territory. Treat any Prestige project as a possibility and not as a plan for your business.
The Standard We Build To

How do I become a certified wine cellar installer?
Join the waitlist. When Wine Cellar University opens, you’ll complete the course and then have a real build reviewed by Prestige. Final requirements will go to the waitlist before enrollment opens.
Will I be guaranteed work from Prestige?
No. Certified installers are eligible to be considered for Prestige projects in their area, but we don’t promise any number of projects or any income.
Do I get an exclusive territory?
No. Certification doesn’t include an exclusive territory or market.
Do I work under the Prestige name?
No. You run your own business under your own name and can describe yourself as Prestige Certified. Prestige doesn’t control how you run your company.
Do I need a contractor’s license?
You’re responsible for holding whatever license and insurance your state and city require for the work you do. Those rules vary, so check with your licensing board.
How much will certification cost?
The price isn’t set. It will go to the waitlist, along with the full requirements, before enrollment opens.
Do I need wine cellar experience?
We expect this path to suit people already working in construction or a related trade. Tell us your background on the form, since it helps us shape the course.
