The Reveal
Brass, wrapped around glass.
A slim polished brass reveal runs the full perimeter of the opening, and the frameless glass doors seat straight into it. The brass is the only thing between the room and the wine.
The Field
Ninety bottles, label forward.
Two oak panels carry a full field of blackened steel pins, three deep, every bottle turned to face you. Left deliberately part-filled, the pins read as pattern across the grain — the rack is the ornament.
The Mirror
It doubles everything behind it.
The centre bay is mirrored, with floating oak shelves crossing it. The mirror takes four and a half feet of cabinet and gives back the impression of twice that, and every lamp inside is reflected once more.
The Base
Cases, lit from within.
Beneath the mirror, an illuminated panel behind slim brass slats. Below that, original timber cases sit on a lit deck — the format wine actually arrives in, treated as something worth showing.
FINISH
The Lantern
Five ways, or yours
Millwork and metal move together — channel, pulls, fittings and pins all change with the wood. Tap a finish, then tune the glass and the light.

Edition of Ten

Three decisions: how deep it runs, which specification, and how you’d like it delivered. Cooling, structural load and engineering are ours — they’re never a question you have to answer.
The Lantern scales sideways, not deeper. The pin field, the mirrored centre and the lit base all hold their proportion — the bays simply widen, and above 72″ a second pair of doors is added. Roughly 53–96″ wide × 106″ tall × 26″ deep, drawn to your verified opening.

Have this configuration sent to you
We'll email the specification exactly as you've built it. No obligation, no drawings released.
Pricing shown is indicative. Final price is confirmed after field verification of your opening.
What Design Plans includes
Full architectural drawings dimensioned to your verified opening — plan, elevations, sections and details — plus structural load calculations, a complete material schedule listing every component, finish and quantity, and the cooling specification sized for your configuration. A licensed set, not a sketch.
Materials are not supplied at this level. Our racking, glass and cooling partners sell through authorised dealers only, so if you’d like us to supply and crate the components, choose Design + Materials.
Credited if you upgrade. The full plans fee is credited toward Design + Materials or Design + Build if you move up within twelve months.
Licensed for one build at one address. Not transferable and not for resale.
Provenance
Drawn, then built.
The Lantern began as shop drawing BJC-006, Revision 0 — 151 bottles, eight feet ten inches tall, twenty-six inches deep. Every dimension on this page comes from that sheet, not from a mood board. It was engineered before it was ever offered: structural loads calculated, components specified, cooling sized. What you receive is that engineering, drawn to your opening.
12′
Floor to ceiling
Drawn as a full-height piece, not a cabinet with glass on top. The proportion is the design.
26″
Depth
Twenty-six inches of wall, with the rack assembly itself running shallower still.
How It Works
Designed by us. Installed by yours.
Every edition ships as a complete, engineered kit — crated, numbered, and ready for your contractor.
01
Reserve your edition
Choose your size, specification and delivery. We assign your edition number and open the drawing, engineered to your verified opening.
02
Field verification
Your contractor mounts the channel first, then submits verified opening dimensions before any glass is cut.
03
Fabrication
Posts, racking, glass, lighting and hardware are fabricated to your verified measurements — in parallel, with the longest-lead component setting the schedule.
04
Crated delivery
Everything arrives palletized and labeled by install sequence, with a printed guide and video for each assembly.
05
Your contractor installs
Posts anchor floor to ceiling, the base sets like millwork, and the glass drops into the channel. We’re on call throughout.
Box & Papers
Owned by ten. Documented like it.
A fine watch is worth more with its box and papers. Your cellar arrives the same way.

Questions
Answered.
Who installs it?
Your own contractor. Every edition is engineered as a kit — components arrive crated, numbered and drawn to your verified opening, with an installation set a competent carpenter can work from. No specialty glazier, no factory crew flown across the country. In Texas we install it ourselves if you’d rather.
Will it fit my space?
Almost certainly, and it won’t need to be a standard size.
The Lantern is drawn to your verified opening rather than to a catalogue dimension.
It scales across 53–96″ W × 106″ H × 26″ D, and the proportions hold at any size in that range.
What happens if a measurement is wrong?
The sequence is built to prevent it. The channel and framing ship first and are installed before anything is cut. Your contractor then returns signed, verified opening dimensions, and only then is the glass cut and the racking finalised. Nothing expensive is fabricated against a number nobody has checked.
What’s included, and what isn’t?
Included: the architectural drawing set, all racking and display components, glass, lighting, hardware, the cooling unit sized for your configuration, and crated delivery. Not included: the wall or enclosure itself, electrical supply, and finish work by others. The drawing set states exactly which trades you need and what each is responsible for.
How long does it take?
It varies with the design — components are fabricated in parallel, and the longest one sets the schedule. Millwork runs eight to twelve weeks; metalwork two to four; frameless glass and mirrors about two; the cooling unit about two. Insulated glass doors are the long lead at twelve to sixteen weeks. Your drawing set states the schedule for your exact configuration before anything is fabricated.
What happens if the cooling fails?
Cooling is the one part that fails invisibly — you don’t find out until the wine does. Every edition is sized and specified by us rather than chosen from a list, and Prestige Care covers it from there. If a unit needs a technician the $500 service call is credited toward a replacement.
Is it really only ten?
Yes. Ten of each design, each numbered and recorded in the registry, and then the edition closes for good. The drawings aren’t reissued and the design isn’t rerun under another name.
Can I change the materials?
Yes — that’s Custom, available on any edition. Species, stain, metal finish, glass and stone are chosen with us rather than from a list, and layout or proportions can change too. Still numbered, still part of the edition, and priced above the authored finishes.
