Wine Cellar University: Learn How Wine Cellars Are Really Built
Wine Cellar University is a training program from Prestige Wine Cellars for builders, installers, design professionals and serious DIYers. It covers the full build, from framing and vapor barrier to cooling, racking and glass, taught from real projects. The course is being developed now, and the waitlist is open.
Joining the waitlist is free and commits you to nothing. Waitlist members hear first when enrollment opens.
Who Wine Cellar University Is For

Prestige Certified Installers

About certification →
Builders and General Contractors
Keep your client and your build. Learn what makes a wine cellar different, and get design and materials from a team that specializes in them.
The builder path →
Architects and Interior Designers
What to plan early, what to specify, and how to keep a glass wine wall from fogging up.
The design path →
DIYers and Kit Owners
A straight answer on what you can build yourself and what needs a licensed trade, with kits and plans if you want a head start.
The DIY path →What the Course Will Cover
A wine cellar is a sealed, insulated room held near 55°F, and a mistake in one layer can ruin the rest. The planned curriculum follows the order of a real build. Topics may change as the course is finished.
Planning and heat load
Assessing the room, calculating heat load and coordinating with the general contractor
Framing and rough-in
Framing, power and cooling line rough-in, and door swing
Insulation and vapor barrier
Closed-cell spray foam, sealing the envelope and handling penetrations
Interior finish
Materials that hold up in a cool, humid room
Cooling systems
Choosing, placing and installing the right type of unit
Racking
Metal and wood systems, anchoring and bottle fit
Glass and doors
Frameless and framed glass, door seals and swing
Lighting
Low-heat LED, color temperature and controls
How the Waitlist Works
We’d rather open a finished course to people who asked for it than sell something that isn’t ready.
Now: join the waitlist
Tell us who you are and where you work. It’s free, and we use your answers to shape the course.
Next: we finish the course
We’ll film and edit it from real work, and send waitlist members updates along the way.
Then: enrollment opens
The waitlist hears first, with the full course content, price and requirements, so you can decide with all the facts.
Installers: certification is earned
Certification takes passing the course and a review of a real build. It isn’t something you can simply buy.

What is Wine Cellar University?
It’s a training program from Prestige Wine Cellars that teaches how to design and build a wine cellar correctly, from framing and vapor barrier to cooling, racking and glass. It’s being developed now, and the waitlist is open.
Is the course open yet?
Not yet. We’re building it now and will open enrollment to the waitlist first. We haven’t set a date.
How much will it cost?
The price isn’t set. Waitlist members will get the price and full course details before enrollment opens, and joining the waitlist is free.
Does the course make me a certified installer?
Not on its own. Certification takes passing the course and a review of a real build, and it’s only for people who want to install professionally. Builders, designers and DIYers can take the course without it.
Will I get projects from Prestige?
We don’t promise projects or income to anyone. Certified installers are eligible to be considered for Prestige projects in their area, when we have them and when the project is a fit.
I bought an Edition. Does this apply to me?
Yes. Every Edition comes with a guide and video for each assembly, and those will be delivered through Wine Cellar University. Choose the Edition option on the form so we can keep you updated.
