Custom Wine Cellars in Miami: Design, Kits and Materials
Prestige Wine Cellars designs custom wine cellars and wine walls for Miami homes, and supplies engineered kits and materials for your licensed Florida contractor to build. Miami’s heat, humidity and high water table leave little room for error, so the design has to start with the envelope and the cooling.
We don’t build or install in Florida. We design and supply, and a contractor licensed in Florida builds the room. Homeowners from Coral Gables and Pinecrest to Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne can start the same way.

How It Works From Out of State
Prestige Wine Cellars is based in Austin, Texas. In Florida, we provide design, kits and materials, and a contractor licensed there builds the room.

What Makes a Miami Wine Cellar Different
Miami-Dade is in Climate Zone 1A, hot and humid for much of the year. Here’s how that changes the design.
Humidity drives the envelope
Average July highs reach about 90°F, with muggy air around the clock. All that moisture pushes toward a 55°F room, which makes a continuous vapor barrier and closed-cell insulation essential.
Why wine cellars grow mold →Most cellars are above ground
Dig far in Miami and you soon reach water, and most new homes in the region sit on slabs. Expect your cellar to be an interior room, an under-stair space or a wine wall.
Under-stair wine cellar ideas →Glass needs extra thought
Warm, humid air on one side of the glass and 55°F on the other is a recipe for fog. The choice between frameless glass and framed insulated glass matters even more here.
Compare wine cellar doors →Exterior glass has its own rules
Miami-Dade and Broward are in Florida’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, which sets impact requirements for exterior openings. If your cellar touches an outside wall, ask your contractor and the building department early.

Do you build wine cellars in Miami?
We don’t build or install in Florida. We provide the design, kits and materials, and a contractor licensed in Florida builds the room. Construction contracts are between you and your contractor.
Can you have a basement wine cellar in Miami?
It’s rare. Miami’s water table is close to the surface, and most new homes in the region are built on slabs. Most Miami wine cellars are interior rooms, under-stair spaces or wine walls.
What’s the biggest risk for a wine cellar in Miami’s climate?
Moisture. If the vapor barrier isn’t continuous, humid air can reach the cold side of the wall and condense inside it. That’s why we use closed-cell spray foam and plan the envelope first.
Can you ship a wine cellar kit to Florida?
Yes. Our Edition kits deliver anywhere in the world, and your own contractor can install them.
Does hurricane code apply to a wine wall?
The High-Velocity Hurricane Zone rules are written for exterior openings, so an interior wine wall is generally a different question. Confirm your project with your contractor and the local building department.
How much does a kit or design cost?
Edition plans start at $5,000. Custom design is a flat fee of $5,000 to $10,000, set by project size. Construction cost depends on your contractor and your space.
