The field
The cork, not the label
Bottles sit nose-out on slim brass pegs inside a panel sunk into the oak, and behind them a white LED panel glows soft and even — so every bottle becomes a dark silhouette with a lit cork face, hundreds of them, in rows. Every other edition in the collection sells you the label. This one hides it, and gives you repetition, texture, and a single lit surface you can read from the doorway.
The height
Ten, eleven or twelve feet
The racking runs the full height of the ceiling without a break, and for the first time in the collection the height is yours to choose. Each added foot puts whole rows into both cork fields and the flanking columns — roughly sixty bottles a foot — while the base and the display columns stay exactly as drawn. The tallest edition we make, at whichever height your room allows.
The corner
Two fields, meeting
The second wall carries its own coffered field, narrower and mirrored, and the two meet at a clean inside corner — so the composition turns with you instead of ending at a wall. A slim black-framed glass door lets you in. A white limestone wall opposite is the only pale surface in the room, and it is what the lit frames read against.
The base
Where the everyday lives
Below the fields, a three-foot base of chevron racking either side of a solid two-door cabinet with a drawer above it — cases, decanters, and the bottles you actually reach for, cradled label-forward. Angled display rows above the base put the current favourites face-out. Cork above for what you keep; chevron below for what you pour.
FINISH
The Coffer
Four ways
Tap a finish to sweep it across the joinery — every wood surface in the room changes together, from the coffer surrounds and columns to the chevron base and cabinet — and the floor is specified with it: pale honed limestone under White Oak, charcoal limestone under Walnut, grey limestone under Smoked, black basalt under Midnight. The white LED panel behind the corks and the brushed brass stay constant. White Oak is the piece as drawn and is included; Walnut, Smoked and Midnight are quoted with your drawings. Custom opens every material beyond them.

Edition of Ten
Reserve your edition.
Three decisions: how deep it runs, which specification, and how you’d like it delivered. Cooling, structural load and engineering are ours — they’re never a question you have to answer.
Capacity on the Coffer is set by ceiling height rather than width. Choose ten, eleven or twelve feet below — each added foot puts whole rows into both cork fields and the flanking columns, while the base and the display columns stay exactly as drawn.
Included in price
Have this configuration sent to you
We'll email the specification exactly as you've built it. No obligation, no drawings released.
Pricing shown is indicative. Final price is confirmed after field verification of your opening.
What Design Plans includes
Full architectural drawings dimensioned to your verified opening — plan, elevations, sections and details — plus structural load calculations, a complete material schedule listing every component, finish and quantity, and the cooling specification sized for your configuration. A licensed set, not a sketch.
Materials are not supplied at this level. Our racking, glass and cooling partners sell through authorised dealers only, so if you’d like us to supply and crate the components, choose Design + Materials.
Credited if you upgrade. The full plans fee is credited toward Design + Materials or Design + Build if you move up within twelve months.
Licensed for one build at one address. Not transferable and not for resale.
Provenance
Drawn, then built.
The Coffer began as shop drawing PWC-003, Revision A — 550 bottles under an eleven-foot ceiling, in a room you walk into. Two walls of white oak meet at an inside corner, and let into each is a deep coffered field of bottles stored nose-out on brass pegs against a softly glowing white LED panel, so what faces the room is not a wall of labels but a grid of cork faces, hundreds of them, framed by a slim reveal that runs the whole way round the opening. From the doorway it reads as a single lit surface; it only resolves into bottles as you walk up to it. It was engineered before it was ever offered — the recess depths, the peg loads, and the cooling sized to the room at whichever ceiling you choose. What you receive is that engineering, drawn to your opening.
12 ft
As tall as you like
The only edition whose height the buyer chooses — ten, eleven or twelve feet, in whole-row steps.
2
Fields that meet
Two recessed cork fields, one per wall, mirrored at a clean inside corner.

Questions
Answered.
Who installs it?
Your own contractor. Every edition is engineered as a complete wine cellar kit — components arrive crated, numbered and drawn to your verified opening, with an installation set a competent carpenter can work from. No specialty glazier, no factory crew flown across the country. In Texas we install it ourselves if you’d rather.
Will it fit my space?
Almost certainly, and it won’t need to be a standard size.
The Coffer is drawn to your verified opening rather than to a catalogue dimension.
It scales across 112″ × 62″ room · 13″ racking · 10–12 ft ceiling, and the proportions hold at any size in that range.
What happens if a measurement is wrong?
The sequence is built to prevent it. The channel and framing ship first and are installed before anything is cut. Your contractor then returns signed, verified opening dimensions, and only then is the glass cut and the racking finalised. Nothing expensive is fabricated against a number nobody has checked.
What’s included, and what isn’t?
Included: the architectural drawing set, all racking and display components, glass, lighting, hardware, the cooling unit sized for your configuration, and crated delivery. Not included: the wall or enclosure itself, electrical supply, and finish work by others. The drawing set states exactly which trades you need and what each is responsible for.
How long does it take?
It varies with the design — components are fabricated in parallel, and the longest one sets the schedule. Millwork runs eight to twelve weeks; metalwork two to four; frameless glass and mirrors about two; the cooling unit about two. Insulated glass doors are the long lead at twelve to sixteen weeks. Your drawing set states the schedule for your exact configuration before anything is fabricated.
What happens if the cooling fails?
Cooling is the one part that fails invisibly — you don’t find out until the wine does. Every edition is sized and specified by us rather than chosen from a list, and Prestige Care covers it from there. If a unit needs a technician the $500 service call is credited toward a replacement.
Is it really only ten?
Yes. Ten of each design, each numbered and recorded in the registry, and then the edition closes for good. The drawings aren’t reissued and the design isn’t rerun under another name.
Can I change the materials?
Yes — that’s Custom, available on any edition. Species, stain, metal finish, glass and stone are chosen with us rather than from a list, and layout or proportions can change too. Still numbered, still part of the edition, and priced above the authored finishes.
