Let’s Bring Your Vision to Life
Let our design team craft a cellar that matches your taste, space, and your collection — built for beauty, function, and prestige.
Project Concept
Designed for a discerning Westlake homeowner, this cellar channels a modern noir mood—cinematic, refined, and meticulously composed. The architecture centers on polished black marble applied to both floor and walls, enveloping the room in depth and contrast. A single-pane glass façade set in matte-black U-channel frames the space, while angled display racking mounted on black floor-to-ceiling posts presents each bottle with gallery-like clarity. Warm walnut shelves balance the marble’s drama, creating a luxurious environment that feels as composed as a scene from a James Bond film.
Our Process
We began by engineering the glass enclosure and racking layout to maximize capacity without cluttering sightlines. The key challenge—and hero element—was marble selection and book-matching. The client required vein continuity from slab to slab across floor and walls, so we performed an intensive review and staging process to ensure each piece complemented the next.
Low profile U-channel framing isolated the glazing from the stone work, while integrated LED lighting was tuned to enrich walnut tones and highlight veining without significant glare. Posts were anchored into structure for rigidity and long-term stability, and the multiple cooling systems were balanced to protect both collection and materials.
The Outcome
The finished room is a statement of controlled luxury: a quiet, cinematic chamber where black marble and walnut create a timeless contrast and every bottle is presented as an object of design. With 624 bottles displayed on angled shelves behind pristine glass, the cellar functions as both a high-performance environment and a signature architectural feature of the home.
